How to make a temporary pipe repair

Today our Worcester plumbers will show you how to make an emergency pipe repair.  This is useful if your are unable to isolate the water supply to that pipe or you would like to keep use the facility fed water by that pipe.

You will need a short length of hose pipe and at least 1 jubilee clip, preferably several.  You can perform this emergency repair “live” but it is best to isolate the water supply first.

1. Carefully slice the hosepipe down its length and place it over the offending pipe so the damaged area of the pipe is central to the length of hose pipe.
2. Completely undo a jubilee clip and affix it directly over the damaged area of the pipe.
3. Affix several more jubilee clips either side of the central clip and restore the water supply.
